2. Food and Beverage
High humidity leads to mould growth, spoilage, and equipment corrosion. Dehumidifiers hold storage and production areas within the product's required band, extending shelf life and reducing contamination risk. Where rooms run cold, such as chilled processing and cold stores, desiccant equipment is often the right route because refrigerant capacity falls at low temperature.

Pharmaceutical manufacturing operates under strict regulatory conditions. Excessive moisture can degrade sensitive products and compromise process repeatability. Cleanrooms and low-humidity process rooms commonly require low dew points that a cooling coil cannot practically reach, which is desiccant territory. Preserving artefacts, artwork, and documents depends on a stable environment. Mould growth and material deterioration accelerate outside the recommended humidity band for the collection. Control is precision work: the requirement is a stable RH with narrow tolerance, which needs humidification and dehumidification working together, not a single drying unit.
5. Electronics, IT, and Energy Storage
Excessive humidity risks condensation on cold surfaces, corrosion at connectors and terminals, and insulation failure. Server rooms, switchgear, and battery enclosures are protected by keeping the local dew point below the coldest relevant surface. For compact enclosures, this is a boundary problem: sealing, drainage, and local equipment matter as much as capacity.

Warehouses protect inventory against mould, mildew, and packaging damage. The target RH depends on the goods: textiles, paper, food packaging, and raw materials each have a recommended band. Ventilation air is often the dominant moisture load, so the ventilation rate must be fixed before dehumidification is sized.

Indoor pools generate a continuous evaporation load. Condensation on windows and structure, corrosion, and occupant comfort all depend on controlling the dew point.
