PCB conformal coating protects treated surfaces; dehumidification removes water from treated air. These address different conditions. A coated board does not establish a waterproof cabinet, and air control does not qualify a coating process.
Check the coating boundary
Electrolube links protection to material selection, coverage and adhesion. Some components, including connectors, require exclusion from coating; cracks or poor adhesion compromise protection. Specify the actual board and intended environment. This comparison concerns PCB conformal coatings, not cabinet-shell paint.
Verify the finished assembly
HumiSeal describes moisture permeability and contamination trapped beneath coatings. Voids or bubbles can provide entry paths. Its inspection guidance includes checking after rework. Lowering air moisture does not repair coating defects or remove trapped contamination. Request inspection and compatibility evidence for the selected assembly; use its approved process.
Compare the evidence
| Protected object | Remaining issue | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| PCB surfaces | Exclusions or defects | Coverage, adhesion, inspection |
| Cabinet air | Ingress and cold surfaces | Load, dew point, drainage |
| Both | Combined suitability unproven | Separate records and acceptance |
Assess the cabinet conditions
The enclosure corrosion guide relates risk to humidity, cold surfaces and contaminants. For recurring moisture ingress, review the removal requirement using the cabinet selection guide. Check actual temperature and humidity, leakage, operating conditions, airflow and drainage. A humidity target alone is not an equipment selection or a guarantee against corrosion.
Record the decision
Keep a short decision record with one row per unresolved question: supporting document and revision, responsible reviewer, decision and follow-up. Label supplier statements, measurements and assumptions separately. Let the responsible engineer establish acceptance criteria for the actual project. A blank evidence field should remain visible until resolved; a generic product label is not a substitute for an answer.
For Yakeclimate equipment discussions, bring the reviewed cabinet conditions and open integration questions. This comparison provides no application procedure or project approval.
